The alleged 11-year old Togolese minor who was arrested as part of the Togolese nationals who were protesting, without Police permit, at the Kaukudi Park in Nima is said to be either 16 or 17 years old.

This was after the Prosecutor brought the report issued from the Police Hospital’s Forensic unit, which put the Accused person’s age at 16 or 17 years as opposed to the 11 years he had earlier claimed.

The Accused person was absent from court and when his whereabouts was questioned, one Salifu Labaram who was representing the accused person stated that he had been sick for a while and had gone back to Togo for treatment since his parents live there.

The Prosecutor pleaded that the case be adjourned since the boy was absent.

The court ordered that either a medical report to prove his ailment is made available on the next adjourned date or the Accused person should be present on the next adjourned date.

The case was adjourned to the 9th February, 2018.
