Court sentences two accused persons in the Kwabenya jail break case

An Accra Circuit Court presided over by His Honour Mr. Aboagye Tandoh, has sentenced two out of the twelve Accused persons who were involved in the Kwabenya jail break incident.

The two, Emmanuel Kotey and Kofi Darko, were convicted on their own pleas and the court took into consideration their mitigation plea.

Emmanuel Kotey who had been in police custody for twenty days was sentenced to 34 months imprisonment and Kofi Darko who had been in custody for 3 months was sentenced to 32 months imprisonment after they pleaded  guilty to  conspiracy to commit crime and escaping from lawful custody.

Both Accused persons were inmates who escaped when the jail break incident took place.

The case has been adjourned to 10th April, 2018.
