An Accra District Court presided over by His Worship, Mr. Ebenezer Ansah has committed two Accused persons in the possession of grenades to stand trial at the High Court on 17th May, 2018.

The Accused persons, Ismaila Ali Musah and Abdul Karim Yakubu both aged 32 years and unemployed were committed after Senior State Attorney, Sefakor Batse told the court that, the Prosecution had enough evidence against them to try the matter.

The Senior State Attorney narrated to the court that, Abdul Karim Yakubu, who was arrested on 15th January, 2018 led police to Kwashiebu, a suburb of Accra, where Ismaila Ali Musah was also arrested.

According to the State Attorney, Abdul Karim confessed that Ismaila Ali Musah purchased the seven hand grenades together with some pistols from Libya upon his (Abdul Karim) request. It was when he (Abdul Karim) was taking it to a buyer in Accra after a potential buyer in Bimbilla could not pay for it, that police intercepted and arrested him.

The judge, before committing them for trial said that after listening to the Prosecution, there was the need for the Accused persons to answer how they had in their possession the explosives.
