Member of Parliament for Bodi and member of the Privileges Committee, Mr. Samson Ahi has stated that the Assin Central MP, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong and the Minority Chief Whip, Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka would appear before the privileges committee on the 3rd of July, 2018, for further interrogation on insulting comments.
In an interview with ghanajustice.com, Mr. Ahi indicated that when the committee looked at the issues pertaining the contempt raised by Mr. Muntaka before them, the committee has agreed to interrogate the comments by Mr. Agyapong.
In his remarks after the hearing at the Privileges Committee, Mr. Ahi indicated that the committee would have to listen to the Assin Central MP before making a determination on the case.
Details of the information provided to the committee by Mr. Muntaka is yet to be known as members of the Parliamentary Press Corp were respectfully asked to leave the first Deputy Speaker’s conference room where the privileges committee met to determine whether the issue brought against Mr. Agyapong has merit.
Mr. Agyapong on the other hand has indicated that he has not received any official invitation to appear before the Privileges Committee.
In an interview with the Assin Central MP, he pointed out that he has already apologised to Osei-Kyei Mensah Bonsu over his comments.
He again cautioned that Members of Parliament should also respect themselves and also listen to his views before condemning him.
Meanwhile, the Assin Central MP is still on the hunt on the conduct of Anas as he premiers a counter exposé, “who watches the watchman” today at the premise of Net2 TV.
