Employment and Labour Relations Minister summoned by Parliament over termination of appointments of public servants

Parliament has summoned the Minister for Employment and Labour Relations, Mr. Ignatius Baffour-Awuah, to answer a question on the termination of appointments of some public servants.

The Minister, will on Thursday, October 12, respond to a question asked by the Member of Parliament for Mion, Hon. Mohammed Abdul-Aziz, if his Ministry is aware of the termination or withdrawal of appointments of some public servants in public institutions such as the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) and the National Service Secretariat, contrary to the Labour Act, 2003 (Act 651).

On the same day, the MP for South Tongu, Hon. Kobena Mensah Woyome will also ask the Minister what constitute the ‘business processes’ of the Youth Employment Agency, with regard to recruitment, training, employment, deployment and payment of allowances to beneficiaries recruited under the Agency.

The House has also scheduled five other Ministers to respond to questions asked of them during the week.
