Parliament summons Minister for the Interior and Four Others

Parliament has summoned the Minister for the Interior, Mr. Ambrose Dery, to answer a question on what his Ministry is doing to curb the highway robberies in the Manso Adubia Constituency of the Ashanti Region.

Four other Ministers will also appear before the House to respond to urgent questions asked of them during the week.

The Minister for Youth and Sports, Mr. Isaac Asiamah, will on Wednesday, October 4, answer an urgent question on whether the Ghanaian contingent to the Commonwealth Youth Games arrived in the Bahamas on the scheduled date and time for the commencement of the games.

On Thursday, the Member of Parliament for Bia West Constituency, Dr. Augustine Tawiah will ask the Minister for Health, Mr. Kwaku Agyemang-Manu, whether the Ministry has established admission quotas for Nursing and Midwifery Training Institutions for the 2017 admission period.

The Minister for Food and Agriculture, Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto, is also expected to appear before the House on Friday, to respond to a question on whether there are plans to reconstruct the Kasa Small Scale Irrigation Dam located in Seniensi, in the Builsa North Constituency, which collapsed in 2016 due to torrential rains.

On the same day, the MP for Kumbungu Constituency, Mr. Ras Mubarak, will also ask the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Mr. John Peter Amewu whether the Ministry would institute an independent public inquiry into the Prestea-Nsuta Mining disaster.
