An Accra High Court has granted bail to Rabih Haddad, the 39-yearold Lebanese alleged to have raped his 19-year old house help.

The court, presided over by Justice Kofi Dorgu, granted bail to Haddad in the sum of GH¢500,000 with two sureties, one of who should be a gainfully employed Ghanaian with a fixed place of abode.

The judge granted bail on the basis that the Prosecution failed to provide evidence on the charge levelled against the Accused.

The grant of bail was also due to the fact that  the Accused had been on remand at the Greater Accra Regional Hospital (formerly Ridge Hospital) for too long.
