Truck Pusher remanded for robbery

A Circuit Court in Accra has remanded a Truck Pusher for allegedly robbing a Trader of her Nokia mobile phone and an amount of 150 Cedis.

Charged with robbery, the accused, Kwasi Mensah, pleaded not guilty to the offence levelled against him. He was remanded to reappear in court on Thursday, the 17th of August, 2017. The case was presided over by His Honour Aboagye Tandoh.

Presenting the facts of the case, Prosecuting Officer, Superintendent Patience Mario, informed the Court that the complainant, Patience Yaw, is a trader who resides at Agbobloshie while the accused, Kwasi Mensah, is a truck pusher and a resident of Nungua.

The Prosecutor said on the 25th of July, 2017, the complainant visited her boyfriend at Nungua and attended nature’s call at about 3:30 am at a public place of convenience near Nungua Kantamanto. She added that while returning, the accused and one other, who is on the run, attacked and robbed her of her Nokia mobile phone worth GH¢50 and a cash of 150 Cedis.

Superintendent Mario also said the accused was spotted later at Italian bar at Nungua and was arrested by the police and arraigned before the court.
