Former COCOBOD CEO granted bail

Dr. Stephen Opuni, the former Chief Executive Officer of COCOBOD has been granted a self-recognizance bail of GH₵300, 000. The court also ordered that he should deposit his passport with the Director General of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) at the Police Headquarters.

According to the presiding judge, His Lordship Mr. Clemence Jackson Hoenyenuga, the Director General of the CID Headquarters should within 48 hours of any activity, submit a report to the Registrar of the Court if the Accused persons want to travel out of the country.

The same bail terms applied to the 2nd Accused person, Seidu Agongo, who also represented Agricult Ghana Limited, the 3rd Accused Company, as its Managing Director.

The two Accused persons and Agricult Ghana Limited are facing 27 charges ranging from fraud, wilfully causing financial loss to the State and misdemeanour.
