Taxi driver remanded for defiling 11 year old girl.

An Accra Circuit Court presided over by Her Honour, Mrs. Abena Oppong Adjin- Doku, has remanded a 47- year old taxi driver for defiling an 11 year old pupil.

The Accused person pleaded ‘not guilty’ to the charge.

In reading the brief facts, the Prosecutor, Chief Inspector Atimbire narrated that the Complainant, Faustina Kpakpo is the biological mother of the victim and. They both live at Tsuibleoo, Teshie in Accra.

He added that the Accused, Prince Samuel Adzokatsi is a taxi driver and lives at Beach Comba, Nungua.

The Prosecutor explained that on 18th February, 2018, the victim was sent by the Complainant to Osu to collect money from her father in the morning, but she did not return after two days. A report was then made at Osu Police Station.

According to Chief Inspector Atimbire, on the third day, that is 22nd February, 2018, the victim returned home and the Complainant took her back to the Osu Police station.

“At the Police station the victim was interviewed and she confessed and mentioned the name of the Accused as the one she was staying with and that during her stay with him, the Accused had sexual intercourse with her”, he said.

The Prosecutor further added that after the revelation, a police medical form was given to the Complainant to take the victim to the hospital for treatment and full report issued on her.

He said that an extract of occurrence was prepared and handed over to the Complainant to send to the Nungua Police DOVVSU, together with the medical form. The Accused person was later arrested and after investigation he was charged with the offences.

The case has been adjourned to 3rd April, 2018.
