Two plead guilty in Kwabenya Jailbreak case

Kofi Darko, a trader and Emmanuel Kotey, a motor rider, who are the 2nd and 12th Accused persons respectively , in the Kwabenya Jailbreak case that led to the death of a policeman, have pleaded guilty to the counts of conspiracy to escape from lawful custody and escape from lawful custody.

An Accra Circuit Court, presided over by His Honour Mr. Aboagye Tandoh, has convicted the Accused persons on their own plea.

This brings the total number of convictions to four in this case.

In February 2018, two of the Accused persons, Prince Osei and Atta Kwadwo were sentenced to 60 months imprisonment.

The sentencing of the 2nd and 12th Accused persons has been deferred to 4th April, 2018.
