An Accra High Court presided over by His Lordship Clemence Hoenyenuga, has adjourned the case involving Dr. Stephen Opuni and Mr. Seidu Agongo to 13th June, 2018.

The adjournment was to make time for a certified copy of the ruling of the Supreme Court on Article 19 clause 2 (e) and (g) to be made available to the judge.

Prior to the Supreme Court interpretation of the Article, Counsel for the Accused persons filed an application praying the court to allow the Prosecution to provide them with all documents the Prosecution has, that is, those it intended to rely on at the trail and also those that will not be used during the trial.

A misunderstanding of the meaning of the said article between the Prosecution and the Defence led the judge to rule that they wait for the ruling of the Supreme Court with respect to a reference case of the same article in question.

According to His Lordship, at the next adjourned date, he will rule on the application and proceed to set dates for the trial to begin.
