An Accra Circuit Court presided over by His Honour, Mr Aboagye Tandoh has set 18th February, 2019, as the date for ruling on the kwabenya jail break case.

Initially there were ten accused persons but subsequently six out of the ten accused persons were acquitted and discharged because according to the judge, the prosecution failed to present any substantial evidence against the six accused persons, after counsel for the Accused persons filed a submission of no case.
The four Accused persons, Prince Osei, Atta Kwadwo, Nancy Dentah and Kofi Seshie took turns to open their defence, after the prosecution presented its case.
In January, 2018, a gang of suspected armed robbers attacked the Kwabenya District Police Headquarters,  killing one officer, Inspector Emmanuel Ashilevi who was on duty, and freeing seven cell inmates.
