The 14 Accused persons who are alleged to have murdered Major Maxwell Mahama at Denkyira Obuasi are to be tried by jury.

The presiding judge at the Criminal Division of the High Court,  Her Ladyship, Mariama Owusu has asked the Registrar of the High Court, Criminal Division  to set up a jury of not more than 7 members for trial to commence on 5th March, 2017.

Upon request by the Prosecutor, Chief State Attorney Evelyn Keelson, the court issued a trial warrant for the Prison Officers to produce the Accused persons for trial.

This was after the Chief State Attorney explained that the Accused persons are in prison custody and would be brought to court on a remand warrant, by the Police.

She further added that the trial warrant would now transfer the responsibility of producing the Accused persons in court, to the Prison Officers.
