Dr. Stephen Kwabena Opuni, former Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD), Seidu Adongo and Agricult Limited are to be arraigned before an Accra High Court on the 23rd of March, 2018.
A total of 27 charges are to be pressed against them including: 3 counts of abetment of crime namely, defrauding by false pretences, 3 counts of defrauding by false pretences, 3 counts of conspiracy to wilfully cause financial loss to the state, 3 counts of wilfully causing financial loss to the state, 8 counts of contravention of the Public Procurement Act, 3 counts of money laundering, corruption of public officer, manufacturing fertilizer without registration, selling misbranded fertilizer and selling adulterated fertilizer.
Dr. Opuni was directed to handover to the Minister of Food and Agriculture, Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto on 13th January, 2017 due to allegations of victimisation, cronyism and corruption, amongst others.
