Six Accused persons George Yeboah, Edward Lartey, George Sarbah, Elvis Owusu, George Asante and Theophilus Bandah in the Kwabenya Jailbreak case that led to the death of a Police man, have been acquitted and discharged by an Accra Circuit Court presided over by His Honour, Mr.  Aboagye Tandoh.

For George Sarbah, Counsel for George Asamani left to the discretion of the Court to decide whether prosecution have established a prima facie case.

For George Yeboah, Edward Lartey, Elvis Owusu, George Asante and Theophilus Bandah a submission of no case was filed.

According to the presiding judge, the prosecution failed to lead sufficient evidence against them and that they were arrested when the Police went to the house of one of the Accused persons, whom they lived in the same compound with.

With respect to the first, second, fourth and sixth Accused persons, Prince Osei, Nancy Dentah, Prince Kofi Acheampong and Kofi Seshie respectively, the judge said that the prosecution led evidence to establish a prima facie case and therefore asked them to open their defence.

Family of the six acquitted and discharged jubilated as some were seen pouring powder on them.
