Presenting his mid-year review of the budget on the floor of Parliament, the Minister for Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta, has indicated that despite observed overages in some expenditure, Total Expenditure fell below its target and amounted to GH¢23.756 billion of 9.8 percent GDP, against a target of GH¢24.553 billion amounting to 10.2 percent of GDP.

Presenting a statement on the floor of Parliament in relation to corruption, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee and Member of Parliament for Nsawam-Adoagyiri, Frank Annoh-Dompreh, has recommended that members must not politicise the government’s effort at fighting corruption.

Following a breakfast meeting organised by the minority in Parliament at the Justice D.F. Annan hall in Parliament, the minority spokesperson on finance and Member of Parliament for Ajumako/Enyan/Essiam, Cassiel Ato Forson has projected that the 2018 mid-year fiscal review to be presented on Thursday by the Finance Minister will burden Ghanaians with outrageous taxes.

The Supreme Court has ordered that the bank accounts of Dr. Stephen Opuni be defrozen. An amount of GHC25,000.00 allegedly tainted by fraud, was however, ordered to remain frozen.
